Apple has officially announced the launch of its new live music venue, Apple Music Hall, set to debut in Battersea Power Station, London. In a statement released on September 22, the tech giant emphasized the venue’s dedication to creating intimate connections between artists and their audiences.
"Apple’s deep love for music dates all the way back to the very beginning, from the launch of the iPod to the long-running iTunes Music Festival to the debut of Apple Music," said Oliver Schusser, Apple Music's vice president of international content. This announcement showcases Apple's continued commitment to the music industry, emphasizing the importance of live performances.
The Apple Music Hall is designed with a seating capacity of 600, ensuring that every audience member feels close to the performance. The venue features a 38-foot-wide stage that can be reconfigured for various performance formats, including in-the-round settings. Furthermore, a 48-speaker spatial sound system aims to enhance the listening experience, matching the high production standards seen in arena tours.
In addition to these features, the venue will serve as an operational production facility. It includes two professional-grade recording and mixing studios, as well as an extensive setup for live broadcasting, supporting more than 16 cameras and featuring a dedicated broadcast control room. This infrastructure allows artists to perform live and walk away with a finished Spatial Audio recording and a broadcast-ready mix from their show.
Apple Music Hall will also expand its reach beyond London by offering global livestreams of performances. Fans worldwide will have the opportunity to tune into exclusive, one-time-only shows from their favorite artists, ensuring that the experience is accessible to a wider audience. “What better way to celebrate this relationship than a new music venue where we get to experience amazing music in an amazing space and share it with the world,” said Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director.
The Apple Music Hall is scheduled to officially open its doors on September 28. With a commitment to live music and artist development, the venue promises to be more than just a space for concerts; it aims to foster a vibrant music community.
As expectations build ahead of its opening, fans and artists alike are looking forward to the experiences and performances Apple Music Hall will bring to the vibrant London music scene.
