The new trailer for Magic Repo Man reveals key details, including cast additions and theme songs, ahead of its October premiere.
The new Sgt. Frog anime will debut on October 3 with an all-new cast and staff, announced by Bandai Namco Pictures.

The anticipated revival of the Sgt. Frog franchise, titled Keroro Gunsō ☆, is officially set to debut on October 3, 2026. This announcement was made by Bandai Namco Pictures, who released the first main promotional video for the upcoming series, showcasing a fresh cast of voice actors and details about the production team.
According to a report by Anime News Network, Keroro Gunsō ☆ will introduce an entirely new cast, diverging from the returning voice actors featured in the recent film, Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō Fukkatsu Shite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu!, which was released in June 2026. The film celebrated the franchise's 20th anniversary and ranked fourth at the Japanese box office during its opening weekend, earning approximately 150 million yen.
The chief director of the anime is Nobuhiro Kondō, known for his work on Shōnen Ashibe GO! GO! Goma-chan and the Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens series. Directing the show at Bandai Namco Pictures will be Akihiko Sano, with production assistance from Bridge and AISLE. The scripts will be overseen by Toshimitsu Takeuchi, while character designs will be handled by Hatsue Nakayama. Kan Sawada will compose the music for the series, bringing experience from the Yowamushi Pedal anime franchise.
Keroro Gunsō ☆ is slated to air on TV Tokyo and its affiliates, with the first episode scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on October 3. This marks a significant moment for fans who have followed the Sgt. Frog journey since the original anime premiered in 2004, which ran until 2011 and spawned multiple films. The original series garnered a loyal fanbase, which is likely to be energized by this new installment.
The Sgt. Frog franchise, based on Mine Yoshizaki's manga, has seen varied iterations over the years, including five feature films and previous animated series. The earlier adaptation received a DVD release by Funimation and features two seasons, while Discotek has been actively releasing all 358 episodes of the original series on SD Blu-ray since 2021.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to this new series building on the unique blend of humor and sci-fi elements that defined the original while also appealing to new audiences. Given that the earlier film was well-received, expectations are high for the television adaptation to continue this momentum.
The debut of Keroro Gunsō ☆ signifies a fresh chapter for the Sgt. Frog franchise, reinvigorating interest among established fans while potentially welcoming new viewers. With an all-new cast and creative team, audiences can expect a fresh take on this enduring story, although how it will resonate with fans of previous iterations remains to be seen.
