Sammi Cohen is set to launch SCN, a livestreamed business news network inspired by TBPN, appealing to a younger audience seeking contemporary news.

Business podcaster Sammi Cohen has officially announced the launch of her new venture, the Social Commerce Network (SCN), a livestreamed business news show. The announcement was made on September 22, 2026, and the show is slated to launch on October 6, 2026. Cohen aims to expand her successful podcast platform, where she explores the intersection of business, technology, and culture, into a lively, real-time news format.
According to a report by Variety, SCN will feature broadcasts three times a week—Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays—from 11 AM to 1 PM Pacific Time. The show promises to deliver a blend of breaking news and engaging interviews with CEOs and other business leaders across various sectors, including consumer businesses, tech, fintech, retail, beauty, and the creator economy.
Cohen stated that SCN will be broadcast on popular social media platforms such as YouTube, X, TikTok, and Instagram, aiming to cater to a younger audience that consumes news primarily on their phones.
In a collaborative effort, Cohen will be joined by co-host Alaina Hartley, a former principal at the venture capital firm Greycroft and a consultant at Bain & Co. Hartley now leads her own consultancy, Dream Hunter, based in Santa Monica. The pair will work out of a newly established studio located in the Sawtelle neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Cohen's SCN draws inspiration from the Technology Business Programming Network (TBPN), which streams daily talk shows focused on Silicon Valley and Wall Street. Cohen praised TBPN's approach to targeting specific audiences and facilitating constructive discussions about technology's future. While TBPN captures a predominantly male audience, Cohen anticipates that SCN will appeal more to women, citing her own follower demographics, which skew roughly 70% female.
Cohen intends to create an interactive platform that engages viewers directly, suggesting that the show will incorporate live feedback and questions from its audience to enrich discussions.
To support the launch of SCN, Cohen has secured various sponsors across multiple sectors, although she has refrained from disclosing specific names. She expressed a commitment to building the show in partnership with these sponsors, viewing them as integral collaborators in the project's development.
Over the first two months, Cohen plans to focus on understanding her audience's preferences and tailoring SCN’s coverage accordingly, emphasizing her desire to provide content that resonates with viewers.
After the launch of SCN, Cohen will continue to produce her existing podcast "Social Currency," balancing both formats to cater to her diverse audience.
Cohen's shift from podcasting to live broadcasting represents a significant trend toward real-time engagement in digital media, especially as younger audiences increasingly seek interactive news experiences. With SCN, Cohen seeks to fill a gap in business news by delivering timely content that is relatable and accessible, meeting the needs of an evolving demographic. Given the current media landscape, the introduction of SCN could influence how business discussions are presented in a more engaging and contemporary format.
