Tubi has announced its first UK original series, 'Wheel of Misfortune,' featuring football freestylers Woody & Kleiny.

Tubi has officially confirmed the launch of its first UK original series, titled Wheel of Misfortune. This announcement was made on September 3, 2026, through Deadline. The show features football freestylers Paul Wood and Paul Klein, collectively known as Woody & Kleiny, who have nearly 16 million followers on YouTube and over five million on Instagram, showcasing their popularity in the digital space.
The series will showcase Woody & Kleiny engaging in a variety of challenges dictated by a spinning wheel, leading to “hilarious, brutal, or downright ridiculous” forfeits. The concept is designed to tap into the duo's comedic flair and freestyle football skills. This project is part of Tubi's initiative to develop creator-led content in the UK.
Tubi launched its Tubi for Creators initiative last year in the U.S. to support independent creators, generating over 500 episodes from various influencers like FunnyMike and Jubilee. The decision to expand this initiative into the UK with Woody & Kleiny positions Tubi at the forefront of accommodating creator-driven narratives. In July, one in six UK viewers engaged with creator content on Tubi, demonstrating significant interest. A 2025 YouGov poll indicated that adult Gen Zs and Millennials represent 51% of Tubi’s UK audience.
Sami Qasem, Tubi’s Director of Creator and Content Partnerships in the UK, commented on the impact creators have made in the entertainment landscape. “Creators have built some of today’s most passionate fandoms,” he stated. The platform aims to produce content that authentically reflects audience interests. By harnessing Woody & Kleiny's established online presence and fan base, Tubi is diversifying its offerings while fostering stronger community connections essential for viewer retention.
Wheel of Misfortune marks the duo's first television commission, validating the shift toward creator-focused programming in mainstream media. Previously, their content has been self-published, making this collaboration a notable expansion for their brand. Tubi aims to curate content that is distinct, placing fandom at the center of its narrative, which could change how creators transition from online platforms to traditional media formats.
Tubi is also taking a global perspective with this initiative, as the streaming service operates in 11 countries across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Oceania. It aims to engage diverse creator ecosystems, adapting to various cultural nuances and fandom characteristics in each market.
As Wheel of Misfortune prepares for release, it signifies an important first step for Tubi in the UK creator market. The streaming service is expected to continue expanding its creator-based slate as it learns from audience interactions and content performance. This strategy offers a promising outlook for viewers eager for fresh, engaging narratives that encapsulate the voices of modern creators, intertwining entertainment with genuine audience connection.
Given the rising prominence of creator content, Tubi's strategy may influence how traditional networks approach partnerships with social media personalities moving forward.
