The upcoming TV anime adaptation of "A Tale of the Secret Saint" has officially announced its premiere date for October 3, 2026. This announcement was made on September 7, 2026, through the official website associated with the series, as reported by Anime News Network. Alongside the premiere date, additional cast members were confirmed, including Kikunosuke Toya, who will voice Curtis Bannister, the captain of the 13th Knight Brigade.
The core talent behind the anime includes Tomoe Makino, known for his work on "Aharen-san wa Hakarenai" and "Woodpecker Detective's Office", who will direct the series at Felix Film. Naoki Murata, who has directed episodes for popular titles such as "Planet With" and "Teasing Master Takagi-san", is serving as assistant director. Deko Akao, praised for overseeing scripts on hits like "Komi Can't Communicate", will handle the series scripts. Character design will be managed by Satomi Kurita, while music composition is in the capable hands of Kenichiro Suehiro, recognized for his work on the "Re:ZERO" and "Golden Kamuy" franchises.
Fans can catch the anime on various networks starting October 3. It will air on Tokyo MX and BS11 at 10:00 p.m., followed by Sun TV at 10:30 p.m. Additionally, AT-X will begin its broadcasts two days later, starting October 5. For those preferring online streaming, ABEMA and Amazon Prime Video will release the first two episodes simultaneously at 10:00 p.m. on October 3, with subsequent episodes available a week earlier than their TV air dates.
Based on the light novel series written by Touya and illustrated by chibi, "A Tale of the Secret Saint" has gained considerable traction, boasting over 3.5 million copies in circulation. The original story debuted on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in January 2019, with Earth Star Entertainment publishing it in print since June 2019. The series has secured notable positions in Takarajimasha's light novel rankings, featuring prominently in the "This Light Novel Is Amazing!" guidebook in both 2024 and 2025 editions.
